@dothidden for public messages decentralized services like status.net or weblogs are great since they distribute the power to take the communication channel down. But for private communication I'm not sure whether #Diaspora & Co. are really the best solution.

For me this looks like a typical code dump if a company no longer needs it and don't know what to do with it. I'm sceptical that it will evolve into a lively project which will be available on feature mobile devices.
